If you have visited either of my other two game sites today, then you probably saw this coming.
Most of you know that I have a TeamSpeak server (replacing the Ventrilo server I was using). I've been using this method for my weekly Raventree pen & paper campaign. This evening it occured to me that it would be cool if we had a server status display on the website for the vent server. I did a quick search and, surprise, my ventrilo host actually provides code for a server status display. So, if you're logged on, you will now see a display in the right hand column of the home page showing who, if anyone, is currently on the vent server. It does not update automatically (you must refresh the screen), but any time you visit the home page it will let you know if there's someone around to chat with. If you wish to join in the ventrilo client is a free download from www.teamspeak.com and you can PM me for the server info. Talk to you soon! |

my friends just switched to something called Mumble.. seems substantially more stable than vent..
not sure if that is relevant to you but thought i'd chuck it out there anyway.
Actually, I looked at Mumble before I looked at TeamSpeak. Mumble didn't have any significant advantages over Vent that would make me want to switch. I've never had any stability problems with Vent. TeamSpeak 3, though, had some significant feature improvements.
Thanks for bringing it up, though. I appreciate it.

For over a thousand years the Third Imperium stood as a shining beacon of humanity. It survived invasions, civil wars, plagues, and all manner of misfortune, but now it has been torn apart. Some say it was greed and the seduction of power, others say it was crushed under the weight of its bureaucracy and immense size.
Archduke Dulinor, the assassin whose mad lust for power started a new civil war, has crowned himself Emperor and now controls a vast region of worlds that were once among the Imperium’s wealthiest. Lucan, Emperor Strephon’s nephew, murdered his brother and disbanded the Imperial Senate to seize the Iridium Throne for himself. The Vilani, masters of the First Imperium, have withdrawn to their own worlds and declared their sovereignty once again. Archduke Norris has found himself alone and pinned between invading Vargr towards the core and invading Aslan on the rimward edge of his domain. Archduke Brzk turned his back on the crumbling Imperium and declared independence. Duke Craig, and his fellow nobles in Daibai declared their sector neutral in the conflict and now struggle to protect their people from the advancing navy of the Terran Confederation, which has liberated its homeworld and begun conquering hundreds of worlds that Emperor Lucan left undefended along the Imperium’s rimward frontier. The rightful Emperor, Strephon, who survived his assassination only by luck when his double had taken his place on that fateful day, has finally perished trying to protect the few worlds that remained directly loyal to him. Last, but not least, Archduchess Margaret struggles to hold the Sylean worlds, birthplace of the Third Imperium, together against threats on all sides. Many urged her to seek the throne for herself, but she has refused and remains loyal to Strephon, despite being unable to aid him.
For nine years the Imperium hung in twilight while factions struggled; some for dominance, some simply to restore order. But the war destroyed too much. Entire worlds burned under the immense firepower of massive warships. Now the Imperium has fallen into darkness.
…but there is hope and her angels hold a glimmer of light that may yet save humanity. |

As you've probably guessed, Twilight Angel is now officially Hope's Angels. Please adjust your bookmarks accordingly because the TA domain will expire soon. Also, if you have Doc's TA email address, please change it to doc at hopesangels.net or I will not receive your messages.
Whee! looks good
I know I really should have been working on a post and, in fact, I had started to write one earlier, but then I started tinkering with the name change and... well... once I started I had to see it through.

I've added several newsfeeds to the site. First and foremost is a feed for BoB's monthly podcast, but I have also added several feeds for gaming and RPG news from across the web. |

Well, as you can see we have finally switched from SMS to Joomla. Obviously, I still have a lot of work to do but we should be able to keep playing with things as they are. |
